Toronto Event Generator - small update Sept 16, 2025
Agnes Callard at TPL
EXTRA:
Sept 19: Agnes Callard, Toronto Reference Library [link]
If my demographic guesses are right, a susbtantial number of people reading this newletter might be pretty interested in seeing Agnes Callard at the reference library.
Also the event seems to be not-very-well promoted, and is on Friday, and I only heard about this today somehow, and the next newsletter probably isn’t till Thursday. So I figured I’d tell you now.
You’re welcome. xoxo
Also- go to the Viaduct tomorrow.
Here’s the old newsletter from a few day ago, again, for your re-reading pleasure

Sept 15: Tech Pizza Mondays [link]

Sept 16: Death Cafe [link]
Drink tea and talk about death!
Sept 16: Tinker Tuesday [link]
Ropes geek-out at Birdhaus.
Sept 17: THE VIADUCT LECTURE SERIES: SHREK, PSYCHOANALYZED [LINK]
This remains my favorite place to go in Toronto, created by Ben Parry. I have been to all of them, and will be at this one. It’s a really great social space. Only two left in the season! This next one is by Toronto substack luminary Sherry Ning. Ben was so impressed by this lecture, and she was so impressed by the series, that they fell iin love and decided to marry each other. I CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT IF YOU COME TO THIS SOMEONE WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU BUT PROBABLY THAT WILL HAPPEN.
Sept 18: Fuckup Nights Toronto [link]
Tales of professional failure
Sept 18 - 21: Camp Reset [link]
Camp Reset is a 4-day adult summer camp in southeastern Ontario.
Sept 19: Other People's Treasure Bingo [link]
A game of pure chance, where the luckiest participants win things that other people did not want. Is this a good metaphor for life? I guess not, really. But close!
Sept 20: Silent Book Club [link]
Extrapolating present trends, by 2032, everything will be a silent book club.
Sept 20: Community Clean Energy Day [link]
A family-friendly party at the Exhibition Place wind turbine!!! Is this a good metaphor for life? Not at all!
Sept 20: vol 34. of the serendipitous cafe [link]
All this is is you hang out at someone’s apartment. It is always sold out. Including this time!
Sept 21: Fall Equinox Song Circle: An Afternoon with Steph & Paul in Toronto [link]
“Come sing with strangers (and maybe cry a little)”
Sept 21: Civic Space Sunday [link]
At 1RG. “We're opening our space to folks working on projects addressing civic challenges with technology.”
Sept 23: Disaster Show [link]
This is good.
Sept 24: THE VIADUCT LECTURE SERIES: ATTENTION IS AN ART FORM [LINK]
LAST IN THE SERIES!!
Sept 24: INTIMACY: THE STORIES WE TELL (AND HOW THEY SHAPE US) [LINK]
I’ve been running these intimacy events with my friend Sophia. This is her own spin on those events, specifically for queer folks. “What stories have you been told about intimacy? Is your story different? How? How do you want your story to be different? What's your next step towards that?” This discussion-based event is intended to be a space for us to reflect on the ways we have approached getting close with each other in the past, what we're doing now, and what we might want to change” Should be great!!!
SEPT 25: DINNER WITH STRANGERS [LINK]
From local hero Jess Janz - eat food, talk to people!
Sept 46: Blorgo the vonk [lunk]
Do people really read this far in the newsletter? I wonder. I feel like I can say anything here. Hi! How are you? I’m good. Last week I wrote some stuff on personal substack, and a bunch of people on facebook got mad at me, and it made me feel kinda sad and lonely. I’m in Virginia now for work. I should go soon to a party for networking reasons. You look nice today. See you later! xoxoxo
Sept 26 - 28: The Attachment Intensive [link]
Three-day workshop combining Attachment Theory with Radical Honesty, from Heidi Priebe and friends.
Sept 27: COUNTING SEAGULLS AT THE SUGAR BEACH PARK [LINK]
Definitely not a good metaphor for life. I don’t think?
SEPT 29: TALKING WITH STRANGERS: HOW TO RUIN YOUR LIFE (FOR THE BETTER) [LINK]
From Jess Janz, the creator of dinner with strangers: This new event goes deeper into conversations. Sold out already, be faster next time.
Oct 6: The Trampoline Hall Lecture series [link]
Yeah yeah whatever, big deal.

About Misha
Hi, I’m Misha! Nice to meet you. I make this newsletter. We started this in September. Around the same time, I also started my own substack. So far the most popular post is one called Stop Pretending Toronto is More Than It Is, which you might like. Or read more about Toronto Event Generator.
I run and host the Trampoline Hall Lecture Series. I co-host All About Intimacy, a conversation event about love, sex, and friendship, and sometimes host a live-band karaoke night at Jean Darlene Piano Room.
In my working life, I help companies foster better human connection - I help teams get better at talking about tough issues, and help organizations run better conferences, workshops, and offsites.
You can find me on twitter, instagram, substack… See you at the next event!
