Li’l Trampoline Hall, March 2! Are you a child? Be in the show!
Are you a grownup? This will be great!
~~~~~ WHOOOO HOOOOO~~~~~
I really want there to be more events in the city that are fun for kids and parents and regular adults without kids. Li’l Trampoline Hall is the Trampoline Hall Lecture Series, but all the lectures are children! It’ll be in the afternoon, at the Theatre Centre. Details TBD, watch this space, or sign up for the Trampoline Hall Email List. Hosted by me, with co-host, Billy Glouberman (9). Followed by pizza party and running around, also grown-up drinks. We are looking for kids to come speak! Sign-up info here ! General info on the show is here. Tickets go on sale Thursday, February 20th.
EVENTS
Feb 13: The Viaduct Lecture Series LAST ONE!!! [link]
This series has been amazing and literally changed how I think about lectures and I think a lot about lectures.
“The Viaduct is an experiment in education for a new Toronto. A lecture series highlighting people and ideas that could transform our city… building intellectual infrastructure that will promote education, community, and cultural creativity for the next 100 years and beyond.”
The last one of the series is coming up! Don’t miss it!
Feb 15 to 17: Kids Fest T.O. [link]
Is in fact in Mississauga so who knows what else they are lying about? Allegedly there will be a lot of kinds of bouncy castles and their bouncy brethren (bouncy slide, bouncy row house, bouncy walk-in medical clinic, bouncy all-you-can-eat sushi place…)
Feb 15: Dog Market & Pawgeant Show [link]
A fashion show but instead of humans, it’s dogs. There are probably other dog-related things.
Feb 16: Reptile Expo [link]
If you dislike reptiles you will almost surely not enjoy this.
Feb 17: Winter Stations 2025 [link]
Did you know there was an annual international design competition where participants compete to create temporary winter art installations incorporating lifeguard towers across the Toronto beaches? You did? Seriously?
Feb 21: All about intimacy: Shame, Shame! [link]
A conversation event run by Misha (me) with my friends Sophia and Heidi. We talk about love, sex, friendship and more. This is an encore presentation of our event on shame because we can’t get enough of that stuff. This series is really great!
Feb 26: Storytell Social [link]
You can also talk to people and not eat food
Feb 26: AI Friends: Meetup [link]
Sadly, not that kind of AI friends, just regular human friends who like AI.
Feb 27: Cinq à Sept Toronto [link]
Billed as an “anti-networking” event. Presumably you leave knowing fewer people than when you started?
Mar 1: Catstravaganza [link]
Cats cats cats cats cats cats cats cats cats. Catscatscatscats. C a t s c a t s c a t s.
Mar 3: This is Not The Show: Facilitated Party [link]
An event run by me (Misha) where you talk to people in a bar. We build a list of topics, and you get to talk about the thing you most want to talk about, with other people who want to talk about that very same thing.
If you know anyone in Toronto who has a friend, it is probably because they met at one of my events.
As of this writing, almost sold out
Mar 5/Apr 2: The Jury Experience: An Immersive Courtroom Case [link]
Maybe you can get paid leave from work to go to this.
About Misha
Hi, I’m Misha! Nice to meet you. I make this newsletter, with help from Bianca Guimarães de Manuel. We started this in September. Around the same time, I also started my own substack. So far the most popular post is one called Stop Pretending Toronto is More Than It Is, which you might like. Or read more about Toronto Event Generator.
I run and host the Trampoline Hall Lecture Series. I co-host All About Intimacy, a conversation event about love, sex, and friendship, and sometimes host a live-band karaoke night at Jean Darlene Piano Room.
In my working life, I help companies foster better human connection - I help teams get better at talking about tough issues, and help organizations run better conferences, workshops, and offsites.
You can find me on twitter, instagram, substack… See you at the next event!
