Non-Toronto Event: Edge Esmeralda - May/June in Healdsburg, California Maybe you should be there, too!
UPDATE #1: I am running the opening ceremony!
In the last newsletter, I posted a thing encouraging people to check out Edge Esmeralda - a pop-up village this springs/summer near San Francisco. The day after I posted that, I talked to the organizers, and we all decided it would be a great idea for me to run the opening ceremony/ritual/thing there! I’ll also be designing weekly welcome sessions for new arrivals. So if you were worried that the event would be lacking in Toronto flavour, rest assured it will have some, in the form of Misha-directed community-building. Yay!
Update #2: Contact me for a 20% off discount code: The Edge Es folks just gave me a 20% off discount code to share with friends. You are my friend, right? Message me here or wherever you can find me, and I’ll code you up

Apr 13: Astral Codex Ten Meetups Everywhere: Spring 2025 [link]
99% of people in the world have never heard of Scott Alexander, who blogs at Astral Codex Ten. 1% of people follow him with almost cultish devotion (or have gotten over him and think he used to be better). I wish more people knew about Scott. He wrote several of my favorite essays of all time, including I Can Tolerate Anything Except The Outgroup, and personal mind-blower Conflict vs. Mistake, and is an astonishingly great thinker and writer. This is a meetup for readers of Scott’s blog, run by our friend Sean.

About Misha
Hi, I’m Misha! Nice to meet you. I make this newsletter, with help from Bianca Guimarães de Manuel. We started this in September. Around the same time, I also started my own substack. So far the most popular post is one called Stop Pretending Toronto is More Than It Is, which you might like. Or read more about Toronto Event Generator.
I run and host the Trampoline Hall Lecture Series. I co-host All About Intimacy, a conversation event about love, sex, and friendship, and sometimes host a live-band karaoke night at Jean Darlene Piano Room.
In my working life, I help companies foster better human connection - I help teams get better at talking about tough issues, and help organizations run better conferences, workshops, and offsites.
You can find me on twitter, instagram, substack… See you at the next event!
