May 21: Fuckup Nights Toronto [link]
People share stories of business failure. I've been a few of these and a lot of the time the person is like "things were so hard… and then… I became really successful", but every once in a while they really did just fail, and you feel like you got what you paid for.
May 21: Other Peoples' Treasure BINGO [link]
Play Bingo and if you are lucky you will get some stuff someone else did not want.
(I think, in terms of the original saying, you're actually getting other peoples' trash which becomes your treasure, but I can understand why the organizers of this event did not name the event in the more accurate way.)
May 21: Sacred Harp Singing [link]
Get in now and you can say you were into Sacred Harp before it was cool. Don't miss the boat like you did with silent book clubs.

May 24: vol 30. of the serendipitous cafe [link]
Seriously - if you are thinking "I want to run an event, but it seems like a lot of work and no one would come" - This event is literally just "hang out in Rabia's apartment with some people". That's it. And it is sold out, three weeks in advance. You could do this.
May 24: Summer Movember Pub Olympics [link]
At The Dock Ellis - Darts, foosball, cornhole, and more!
May 24-25: asses.masses [link]
From the web site: "asses.masses is a custom-made video game about labour, technophobia and sharing the load of revolution, designed to be played from beginning to end in a live theatre."
I have no fucking idea what that means, but I bet it is 100% the sort of thing you love.

May 25: Dating like it’s 1999 [link]
“For Heterosexual men and women aged between 27 and 39 years old”. Which means in 1999 you were seven or whatever. Ah, for the days when dating was simpler!

People tell stories connected to a song.

An early leadup event for this was the first project ever sponsored by Toronto Event Generator, so this has a special place in our heart. Also it will be great.
June 7: House Party [link]
This happens every month at Danu and I had some hand in starting it.

About Misha
Hi, I’m Misha! Nice to meet you. I make this newsletter. We started this in September. Around the same time, I also started my own substack. So far the most popular post is one called Stop Pretending Toronto is More Than It Is, which you might like. Or read more about Toronto Event Generator.
I run and host the Trampoline Hall Lecture Series. I co-host All About Intimacy, a conversation event about love, sex, and friendship, and sometimes host a live-band karaoke night at Jean Darlene Piano Room.
In my working life, I help companies foster better human connection - I help teams get better at talking about tough issues, and help organizations run better conferences, workshops, and offsites.
You can find me on twitter, instagram, substack… See you at the next event!
